September Updates!
As fall approaches, we're excited to announce some big updates to WSI!
1. News Headlines
When a workplace incident hits the news, you'll now see it on our home page in our new headlines scroll. This makes it easy to check what's happening in the world of occupational safety. Plus, along with the news headline, you'll see the organization's SafetyScore. Scores are not impacted by current events, though they give a point of reference point when evaluating the potential causes of an incident.
You'll also see a headlines viewer on organization profile pages, which shows recent news events for that organization.
2. Logos and Domains for Many Companies
To make navigation easier and provide more context, we've started displaying logos and domains for certain companies in their profiles. This helps quickly identify the companies you're looking at. This a small upgrade, but one we're particularly pleased with.
3. Weather Data
Weather conditions can significantly impact workplace safety, especially in outdoor or high-risk environments. To help respond to weather-related risks, we’ve introduced current weather and a 7 day forecast for all company locations. This adds real-time weather information directly on the platform, helping highlight potential safety hazards such as heat stress, windy conditions, or severe storms.
And stay tuned for weather alerts, which will be released later this year. With weather alerts, you can receive notifications about weather events that could impact workplace safety. Alerts will be customizable by location and cover a range of conditions, including high winds, storms, and heat waves. Not only will this ensure you are always prepared for an extreme weather event, but it will give safety professionals a compliance tool for the upcoming OSHA standards on heat illness prevention.
4. Now Accepting all Emails
For those who prefer not to use Gmail or Microsoft to sign up for an account, we've added the ability to create accounts with any email and password.
As with any new features, there are some bugs to be worked out. We appreciate your patience as we refine these updates to ensure the best possible experience. We are committed to continuous improvement and welcome any feedback or suggestions you have.
Thank you for being a part of the WSI community!
